 Three natural splits in the top are stabilized with Olive wood wedges.  On either side of each wedge the top has been carved thin again to maintain the slender profile.

 The completed center joint, joining the two slabs.  A small band of sapwood was left to highlight the meandering seam that travels the length of the top.
