The Voyager Table. Named after one of my favorite daydreams; imagining NASA's Voyager 1 sailing through the cosmos. Launched by Nasa in 1977, the Voyager 1 and 2 space probes were sent on a mission to discover the edges of our universe and beyond. Last report, Voyager 1 had actually ventured beyond the edges of our known solar system, and is still transmitting. Each piece that takes shape in my studio earns a name during the process.  The end grain of the turned oak legs on this table show a lovely geometry(Voyager)in the midst of the swirling grain of the solid walnut slab.  This solid slab of black walnut combines both live edge and carefully designed linear elements for a well balanced shape.  The table also features a small drawer of bookmatched walnut and hickory with dovetailed joinery.  Durable, 4 coat varnish finish, hand rubbed to achieve the perfect sheen. Signed and sealed with Revelwork etched brass plate.
